Like to work for a key player in social research and analysis with a professional culture? Providing in-depth quantitative and qualitative research to its client base -- which mostly includes federal and state departments involved in crime and justice issues -- our client now has an opportunity to for a suitably qualified professional researcher with a background in psychology, statistics or crime and justice.
The key responsibilities of the position will include:
- Acting as principal researcher for the project including designing and conducting all research activities within budgets and time frames.
- Liaising directly with key players in the field to verify and correlate their data and with outsourced consultants who act as statistical suppliers
- Representing our client at key media events, seminars and conferences.
To be successful you should have a degree in psychology / forensic psychology or a background in statistics and at least eight years of relevant experience with, preferably, a published research track record. You may also have a background in law provided you have strong statistical skills.
A PhD or Masters Degree in one of these areas would be highly advantageous.
Additionally you will need: broad experience with SAS and preferably SPSS as well as Excel and a broad experience of sampling theory as well as of modeling and be able to practically apply algorithms to weigh and aggregate data.
