Bioinformatician / Genetic Statistician

The Murdoch Children's Research Institute seeks a bioinformatician/genetic statistician to provide expert advice and collaborate in a range of research projects. Opportunities exist for involvement in a number of genetic association (and possibly linkage) studies of paediatric conditions. The successful applicant would work within the bioinformatics unit, in close association with the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) at the MCRI.

Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline, such as biostatistics, bioinformatics, biology, and either a PhD/masters in bioinformatics/medical-related/statistical fields. Applications are also invited from applicants who possess a degree in one of these fields and practical statistical genetics/ bioinformatics experience. Knowledge and experience of gene association studies and linkage analysis is essential, as is demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team. There is flexibility for a part-time appointment.
