The Office of the Employment Advocate (OEA) is a growing organisation, dedicated to helping Australian employers and employees to make workplace agreements. In this role, you will utilise a range of quantitative/qualitative information sources to assist in the preparation and/or completion of reports, data analysis and strategic advice.
Specifically, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Preparing correspondence for a range of parliamentary requirements - embracing fact sheets, questions on notice, senate estimates, and specific parliamentary requests
- Responding to requests from external stakeholders for information on workplace agreements - involving explaining data collection methodologies, advising on limitations in the data, providing advice/training/guidance to internal staff on the development of reporting systems and representing the OEA on both internal and external forums
- Preparing numeric data as tables and graphs for presentation and reporting purposes
- Conducting quantitative analysis of data produced from a range of sources related to workplace agreements
- Analysing changing trends in workplace agreements/lodgements, and providing reports/recommendations accordingly
- Designing and developing databases and information management systems for reporting purposes and educating internal stakeholders on the ensuing benefits
To succeed in this role, you must have demonstrable experience in the application of analytical and problem solving skills - together with a proven competence in developing and drafting complex correspondence. The ability to analyse, prepare, present, justify and articulate data in various formats/forums is a further prerequisite.
Your well developed interpersonal and communication skills must include an aptitude for advising and training people on the use of information reporting systems/tools. The capacity to develop/manage/maintain databases, spreadsheets and reporting systems - and prepare reports from each source is also essential. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are desirable, and computer literacy in MS Excel, MS Access, SPSS and SQL will be an advantage.
