The Faculty of Medicine is the largest and most comprehensive assembly of health and medical education research in the Asia Pacific. The Faculty conducts cutting-edge education and research across the full spectrum of health and medical knowledge, from the medical sciences through to clinical medicine, public health, health service delivery and medical education. Its School of Public Health is widely recognised for its strengths in Biostatistics and Epidemiology.

The School of Public Health is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to teach and research in the discipline of Biostatistics. The appointee will teach biostatistics to postgraduate research students and to postgraduate coursework students enrolled in degrees in biostatistics, public health and clinical epidemiology, using both face-to-face and online delivery. Additionally, she/he will supervise research students and Master of Biostatistics and other postgraduate coursework students' research projects, and will provide biostatistical advice to postgraduate research students. The appointee will be encouraged to develop their own independent research interests, in an area consistent with the School's research and teaching in biostatistics and epidemiology.

A PhD in statistics and a demonstrated history of relevant research and publication are essential. Experience in course development and administration, teaching applied statistics, supervising research students and providing advice on biostatistics will be crucial for success. The appointee will have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with students and university staff. Experience in online delivery will be regarded favourably.

The School enjoys an excellent collaborative relationship with Government health agencies, allowing the successful candidate to play a major role in important public health research.

This position is full-time fixed term for three years, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.

Remuneration package: up to $102,118 - $117,642 p.a. pro rata (which includes a base salary Senior Lecturer Level C $86,291 - $99,499 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation)
