Insureware
Insureware is a growing company with an impressive client list that spans the globe. We are looking for one energetic person to join our world-class team of statisticians. With us, you will be at the forefront of exciting developments extending the range of statistical techniques that we offer to actuaries in insurance companies world-wide. You will be providing support to our global client base, which may involve some international travel.
We already market the most sophisticated and innovative statistical software used in general insurance. To keep ahead, we need to be continually extending the range of our software, based on our internal research and development. Your mature statistical skills will allow you to take part in this development, helping the team of statisticians/developers in understanding the problems faced by our customers and designing creative and original solutions to those problems.
You will also be involved in helping our customers get the best value out of our software. Your skills in technical documentation, user requirements design and software testing, together with the ability to explain complicated statistical concepts in layman's terms, will help make our software even better and keep our customers satisfied.
We are prepared to pay top $ for the best. For the right person, we will pay between $55K to $80K negotiable, based on credentials, academic record and experience. Note that you MUST be already authorized to work in Australia.
You must have an M.Sc or Ph.D with a strong component of applied statistics, particularly statistical computing, and a top class academic record. Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required and programming experience with Visual Basic for Excel is highly desirable. We expect you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and considerable experience using packages like SPlus, Matlab or SAS. You will have frequently used normal-based regressions, GLMs and time series modelling, both Box Jenkins and structural modelling. Knowledge of Kalman Filter type algorithms or a background in general insurance will be an advantage. There will be opportunities to grow with the company as we expand into new areas.
