An international company is seeking talented and inquisitive analytical minds to join their new Brisbane operations, in the Data research sector. This role involves using Matlab and other languages to import, manipulate and export large data sets, producing graphical reports to identify statistical abnormalities and their causes. To ensure data integrity, analysts need to communicate issues clearly with the Data Teams Manager and the IT team. You will be working closely with the IT team on data formats and delivery specifications. Analysts work in small teams so team work, organisation and communication are essential. Role also involves documentation, code optimisation, research and testing.

You will enjoy working in very small teams and must have well developed communication skills, as effective liaising with other areas of the company is essential. The right person will bring to the organisation a meticulous nature, attention to detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines. The ability and desire to learn Matlab is a must.

You will need to have tertiary qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Operations Research. Please note we are not looking for candidates interested in building a career in Finance. Matlab experience is a plus but not a pre-requisite as training will be provided. This position will ideally suit graduates, or those near completion, who want to enhance their current skills through computational data manipulation.
