Opportunity to work with project leaders to examine factors related to healthy ageing in men and women
The School of Population Health (SPH) was established in January 2001 by amalgamating the University of Queensland’s programs in Tropical Health, Community Nutrition and Indigenous Health, with the former Department of Social and Preventive Medicine. The School has Divisions of International and Indigenous Health, Health Systems Policy and Practice, and Epidemiology and Social Medicine.

This position arises from the success of The University of Queensland and the University of Western Australia in securing funding from the NHMRC and ARC to examine factors related to healthy ageing in men and women. This project will capitalise on two existing large scale studies to increase the scientific understanding of strategies for maintaining the health and well-being of older people living in the community.

The Role: The successful applicant will be required to assist with statistical analyses and data management activities of the Ageing Well, Ageing Productively project at the University of Queensland.

The Person: Applicants should posses a degree in Statistics or related field with a statistics component and/or a combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Additionally experience with statistical software packages, preferably SAS is essential for this position.

Remuneration: This is a full or part-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years at HEW Level 5 or 6. The remuneration package will be in the range of $54,342 to $60,863 (HEW Level 5) or $62,426 to $67,269 (HEW Level 6) per annum (full time rates) including employer superannuation contributions of 17%. The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
