Department of Primary Industries, Victoria, Australia is seeking a committed and highly experienced professional with tertiary qualifications in Statistics/Biometrics. A strong understanding of application of Biometrics to agricultural and related science disciplines is required.
Based in Horsham (or possibly at Hamilton) in western Victoria, you will lead a small group of professional biometricians that provide collaborative and consultative support to research projects in the region. The projects will cover a range of areas including animal and plant production, plant genetics and genomics, soil and water, and farming systems.
There will be opportunities for professional development and statistical research arising from collaboration with agricultural and biological research scientists. The position has ongoing status.
Horsham is located in western Victoria, 301 kilometres north-west of Melbourne. Known as the "Capital of the Wimmera", the township serves an important business and recreational centre for the popular Grampians and western Victoria region. Horsham is an ideal base for visiting the surrounding natural attractions, being centrally located to Mt Arapiles-Tooan State Park, Little Desert National Park, Black Ranges State Park and the Northern Grampians.
Salary: AUD 67,556 - AUD 81,738 plus superannuation.
