PhD Studentship

University of Auckland

A PhD student research position is available in statistical genetics with Dr. Sharon Browning at the University of Auckland.

This position involves development and assessment of statistical algorithms for analysis of large-scale genetic association data. Salary is NZ$30,000 per annum plus tuition fees, covering the period May 2007 to April 2010.

Applicants should have a Bachelors degree in Statistics or a related discipline, and have an interest in genetics. A strong background in applied probability, such as Markov chains, is desirable.
