AGB Nielsen Media Research is the largest provider of television audience measurement services in the world. We are currently contracted to conduct Television Audience Measurement (TAM) in the five major Australian metropolitan markets, to collect and market Regional TAM, and to report Subscription Television.

An exciting and highly challenging position currently exists within the organisation for a Senior Statistician located in Lane Cove, Sydney.

The position of Senior Statistician performs a key role within the smooth operation of the Statistics Department by lending support to the company directors and the Statistics Manager and by supervising some elements of operations of the Statistics Department.

The Senior Statistician would lend guidance, support and supervision to a small team of statistical professionals on technical and operational issues relating to panel data - sampling and recruitment, quality control procedures and statistical analysis of television ratings data as well as analytical and technical consultancy within the organisation.

As the Senior Statistician, you will be involved across a range of technical and research projects relating to the performance of the TV panels and topics relating to viewing profiles, habits and influences. You will also be responsible for the preparation of statistical reports and the management of various databases.

The successful applicant for this position would need to be tertiary qualified with 3 to 5 years experience as a Statistician (or related roles) and a demonstrated track record for striving and achieving quality outcomes. Strong research, analytical, communication and computer skills would be required with a strong knowledge of SAS and Microsoft Excel as a minimum. You would need to be results oriented, diligent and highly organised to meet deadlines. Previous experience in dealing with panel data and large datasets would be considered favourable but not essential.
