The Portfolio Strategies Division provides leadership and management to the whole of the Portfolio to ensure the development and implementation of world class policy and practices for health and aged care services for all Australians. The Division provides corporate functions, strategic and policy advice to whole of Portfolio.
The Economic & Statistical Analysis Branch supports decision makers with relevant, reliable evidence directly through a production of analysis, data products and modelling, and indirectly through data standards and tools, development of departmental policy on data and information management, advice and support on modelling, and provision of data from external agencies.
The Portfolio Modelling and Analysis Section (PMA) undertakes a range of activities to promote innovative modelling and analysis that produces policy relevant information and statistical tools for key decision makers. As the Director, Portfolio Modelling and Analysis you will:
- manage a team of specialists to achieve high quality outcomes within tight timeframes;
- oversee the development and quality improvement of whole-of-portfolio economic, financial and disease models and analytical tools;
- establish a centre of excellence in best practice, cutting edge modelling and quantitative methodology that is a resource for the rest of the department; manage key data sources and produce regular analytical reports on health survey and administrative data; and
- manage data extraction activities for Commonwealth administrative datasets.
