Peter Mac is seeking an established researcher for their bioinformatics core. The senior analyst will apply state-of-the-art integrative analysis techniques to biological data. Data include comparative genomic hybridization, SNP array, gene expression and other high throughput technologies. Data sources include in vitro and in vivo model systems, as well as clinical samples. There will be opportunity to develop novel methods to advance data interpretation based on integrated mathematical and statistical models of biological systems. The analysts in the Bioinformatics Core at the Peter Mac work closely with experimental scientists and clinicians to ensure the biological assumptions and the translational relevance of the studies are fully considered when building and analysing the models of the biological systems.
A PhD or Masters with several years experience specialised in applied data analysis in the life sciences and demonstrated accomplishments in bioinformatics, biology, and/or statistics are essential. You will have excellent skills in high-level programming language such as Java, C++, C, Matlab or R and you should be well versed in multivariate analysis methods including classification, and familiar with design of experiments.
You will be self motivated and have the ability to work well independently and in a team environment, and have excellent communication skills with desire to share knowledge and skills with others.
