Supplemented PhD Scholarship in Statistics

University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand

Applications are invited for a supplemented 3-year PhD scholarship in Statistics at the University of Otago.

A University of Otago Prestigious Scholarship provides an annual emolument of $25,000, plus payment of fees for 3 years. In addition, The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is offering a supplement of $10,000 (plus $2,500 for expenses) to an applicant who is awarded a Prestigious Scholarship. A normal University of Otago Postgraduate Scholarship provides an annual emolument of $20,000, plus payment of fees for 3 years: an exceptional applicant who is awarded the normal scholarship may still be deemed eligible for the supplement.

Applicants should have (by December 2007) a First Class honours degree, or Masters degree, specialising in statistics.

The scholarships are available to both International and Domestic students.

If you are interested, you should apply for a University of Otago Postgraduate Scholarship in the usual manner. Successful applicants will then be considered for the supplement. Application forms can be obtained from the Scholarships Office at:
