Research Fellows in Statistical Methodology - up to three positions
The Centre for Statistical and Survey Methodology is a vibrant and
growing research centre that undertakes fundamental and industry
focussed research, training, and consulting projects involving
statistical or survey methodology. The Centre has 10 academic staff,
including four professors, 15 research students and links with major
statistical agencies in Australia and overseas. Due to success in
securing research funding, CSSM is seeking skilled and enthusiastic
staff to fill the following Research Fellow positions.
Research Fellow - Combining Longitudinal Survey Data
Fixed-term 3, years
This position will focus on research associated with statistical
methods applicable to the ARC/NHMRC funded project Learning to age well
from longitudinal ageing studies. This will involve research into
methods to combine data from several longitudinal surveys. The
successful applicant may also undertake various research and consulting
projects in statistical methodology in sample surveys and official
statistics. The position may involve a limited amount of teaching.
Research Fellow - Small Group Analysis from Sample Surveys
Fixed-term, 3 years
This position is to undertake research into new methods for small area
estimation under the ARC funded Linkage grant New methods for small
group analysis from sample surveys. This project involves close
cooperation with the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Australian
Bureau Agricultural and Resource Economics, NSW Health and the NZ
Ministry of Health.
Research Fellow - Sample Surveys and Linked Data
Fixed-term, 2 years
This position is to undertake various research and consulting projects
in sample surveys and official statistics, including research on
methods of sampling rare groups and analysis of probabilistically
linked data. The position may involve a limited amount of teaching.
This position has the possibility for extension should further funding
be available.
All positions require a PhD in a relevant field of statistics, or near
completion of a PhD and strong research potential. Whilst all
positions are advertised as full time, requests for part-time
appointments will be considered.
