Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow in Biostatistics

NSW Injury Risk Management Research Centre

The NSW Injury Risk Management Research Centre (IRMRC) is an independent research centre of UNSW. The Centre is a collaborative initiative of NSW Health, the Roads and Traffic Authority, the Motor Accident Authority and UNSW. Applications are invited for appointment as Research Fellow.

This position is jointly funded by the IRMRC (60%) and the School of Mathematics and Statistics (40%). It involves: (a) contributing to the work of the IRMRC by providing methodological developments and biostatistical support across a range injury epidemiology and risk management research projects. And (b) teaching upper level undergraduate and masters level courses in statistical methodology relevant to clinical or intervention trials, medical statistics, statistics in epidemiology, longitudinal data analysis, analysis of survey or other data collections in complex investigations.

The salary range for Research Fellow is $70,028 - $82,554 per year and the salary range for Senior Research Fellow is $85,056 – $97,582 per year (plus 9% employer superannuation plus leave loading) depending on qualifications and experience.

Appointment as a Senior Research Fellow will not only require a PhD but also a substantial body of published research, successful grant applications and a proven capacity for self-directed research.

This is a one-year fixed term appointment with prospects of renewal.
