The Centre for Health Record Linkage (CHeReL) is hosted by the Cancer Institute NSW and is a collaboration between ACT Health, the Cancer Institute NSW, the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission, the NSW Department of Health, The Sax Institute, the University of Sydney, the University of Newcastle and the University of New South Wales. The CHeReL will provide record linkage services for health and health services research in NSW and the ACT, and operates in strict compliance with privacy law and ethical requirements relating to personal information.
As the Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic, business and operational management of the CHeReL. You will provide expert advice to a wide range of stakeholders on technical, legal, privacy and ethical issues relating to data linkage, as well as oversee the collection and linkage of health data and its appropriate dissemination. This position is a member of the Management Committee and will be the primary point of liaison for the CHeReL member organisations.
To be successful in this role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated professional experience gained in a research, clinical or population health environment. You will also have an understanding of data linkage and the legal, ethical and privacy issues relating to the collection, use and disclosure of personal and health information. Candidates must also have proven leadership skills and excellent negotiation skills.
