Executive Manager, Market Risk Management

    The Executive Manager, Market Risk Management will formulate market risk policy, methodology and processes for all types of market risk arising from the CBA on-shore and off-shore businesses. The position will be responsible for the development of a best practice market risk framework as appropriate for the different scaled businesses controlled by the Bank, in consultation with the business unit market risk specialist areas and the traded and non-traded functions.

    The position will also provide support to the traded market risk COE and be actively involved in the trade markets Revaluation Committee, focussing on implementation of related policies, methodologies, procedures, reporting and documentation.

    More specifically, your duties will include:
    Lead the development and maintenance of the Group Market Risk Policy framework and provide support to the traded market risk function. This will involve:
  • Monitoring industry developments, including Basel II, and leading the development of best practice policy, measurement and management frameworks in response to industry initiatives
  • Monitoring the Bank’s business activities and providing market risk policy, methodology and implementation support to facilitate business unit objectives.
  • Active support to the traded-market risk function in the development and implementation of a consistent, efficient and effective market risk framework across the Bank
  • Active support to other market risk type areas in the Bank in response to customer needs and GRM priorities.
  • Providing information on the market risk framework and risk profile to the Bank’s Board and senior management.

    To be considered for this position it is desirable that you have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics or Accounting;
  • Quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong business and risk analysis experience;
  • Information and risk management experience.

    As the successful candidate, your demonstrated experience within risk analysis and quantitative modelling will be highly regarded, as will your strong business analysis experience. Your strong communication skills will compliment your business analysis and information management skills.
