Under the auspices of the new Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security, there is an opportunity to help build a new program of research in the emerging discipline of Integration and Implementation Sciences. The uncertainty analyst will concentrate on how policing and security can better understand and manage issues with high uncertainty. Depending on experience, an appointment may be made at the Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Fellow or Fellow levels.

The successful applicant will have skills in interdisciplinary research, an understanding of quantitative and qualitative methods and the ability to work with diverse researchers and stakeholders. Relevant experience in uncertainty research is desirable. Experience in policing, international relations, biosecurity or a related area is desirable.

This position is located at The Australian National University at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH). Appointment is for a fixed term of up to 5 years, subject to funding by the ARC. An attractive package, including generous superannuation, and other benefits will be negotiated. In addition, the University provides staff with the option to salary sacrifice, or convert to certain other benefits, up to a total limit of 50% of gross salary.
