Post Doc Evaluating the performance of Australian risk analysis system

This joint CSIRO/QUT project is funded through the Australian Centre of Excellence for Risk Analysis and the CRC for National Plant Biosecurity. The postdoctoral position will be appointed into CSIRO Entomology and will be located at CSIRO Long Pocket Laboratories and the QUT Gardens Point Campus, Brisbane.

The appointee will evaluate the performance of Australia’s import risk analysis system using both qualitative and quantitative approaches and will develop a methodology for evaluating the accuracy of consequence (impact) assessments taking uncertainty into account. In so doing factors with the best predictive value for agricultural systems will be identified. The appointee will have a PhD in statistics, or postgraduate qualifications and a strong record of statistical research in another relevant discipline. Experience with Bayesian analysis and/or risk analysis research is desirable.

The appointee will report to the Project Leader Dr Paul De Barro, CSIRO Entomology. The appointee will also be required to liaise with team members within QUT and other relevant partners.
