(Up to 12 Month Maternity Leave Contract)

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Central Cancer Registry, you will be responsible for coordinating the patient recruitment program to provide researchers with access to the Central Cancer Registry to support a range of cancer research studies. This involves consulting and collaborating with investigators on the design, planning and implementation of studies, the review and development of protocols and the supervision of a Patient Recruitment Officer who supports the service.
Candidates must have appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience, a sound understanding of research methods and practices preferably gained in health and experience with data management and establishing databases. Candidates must also have well developed communication and interpersonal skills and the capacity to deal with patients that are upset or distressed in a sensitive manner. An understanding of and a capacity to comply with information privacy, confidentiality and research ethics guidelines is also a requirement of this position.
