International Applicants Welcome

We seek an enthusiastic and talented postdoc to play a role in our research at the interface of spatial statistics and ecology. This postdoc position aims to develop new, cutting-edge statistical methodology for detecting sudden changes in spatial patterns of vegetation. The postdoctoral researcher will join an internationally recognised CSIRO team working on quantitative analysis of remote sensing and aerial imagery for monitoring of land and vegetation condition. The project will be supervised by Professor Adrian Baddeley of the University of Western Australia, a leading expert in spatial statistics. The postdoctoral fellow will have access to an excellent research environment including advanced software, high quality data and a breadth of scientific expertise. Research outcomes include rigorous definition of the statistical methodology in prominent publications, practical implementation including software, and detailed examples demonstrating the analysis of high-resolution remotely sensed imagery for environmental indicators and monitoring.
