Casual Project Officer (2 months)

The UNSW Research Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity is seeking to fill a short term (2 months) summer holidays part/fulltime position providing research support to the Gudaga Project.

The Gudaga Project is a longitudinal study of the health, development and health service use of Aboriginal infants and children in Sydney South West. Infants were recruited at birth between October 2005 and May 2007 and will be followed for five years.

The position will be based at the Centre for Health Equity Training Research and Evaluation (CHETRE) at Liverpool Hospital and will be for approximately 8 weeks. CHETRE is a part of the UNSW Research Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity.

The Project Officer will work closely with the Senior Research Fellow and other senior members of the Gudaga Research Team to prepare the Gudaga databases for statistical analysis. Duties will include:

Preparation and validation of Gudaga baseline and 6-month data collections for analysis

Liaison with the Custodians of the Obstetrics Data Collection to extract ODP data for analysis

Liaison with Custodians of Ingleburn Baby Information System to extract IBIS data for analysis

Commence basic analysis of the data

The position is designed as a summer position and would suit a 3rd/4th/honours/ masters or recently completed student who is interested in short term work in a setting the will provide relevant experience in health services research and statistics.

Salary: Casual Project Officer Level 2-4 ($25.45 - $30.84 per hour) depending on experience.
