Health Analyst

A new opportunity exists for a Health Analyst in a leading, national private health insurer. The role of Health Analyst is situated in the Business and Clinical Analysis team of the Health and Financial Solutions Division of MBF Australia. The team is accountable for: clinical health analysis; the quality and completeness of the business’s health claims data and funds recovery. The team also has significant input into other Group business activity, for example, product development/pricing, customer solutions, etc.
The Health Analyst role is responsible for analysing health and industry data to provide comments on health trends and drivers relevant to the activities of MBF, to ensure accurate decision-making and best clinical information/practice.
Job Specific Competencies, Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary qualification or higher in a health/statistical related discipline eg medical statistics, health economics, etc.
Health experience / research background preferable.
Understanding of health care and the private health insurance industry.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
Proficiency in using base SAS and MS Excel.
High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
Enthusiastic, pro-active, self-starter.
Versatile thinking.
Statistical and modelling literacy.
Ability to apply a whole of business perspective .
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
