Research Analyst, the SEEF and 45 and Up Studies
The Sax Institute is a small and innovative organisation funded by NSW
Health to build capacity in public health and health services
research. The Sax Institute is establishing a cohort study of 250,000
people aged 45 and over in NSW, known as the 45 and Up Study. As the
largest study of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the 45 and Up
Study is an ambitious and ground-breaking large scale cohort study
that will address important questions relating to healthy ageing.
The 45 and Up Study is currently seeking to appoint a Research Analyst
to work jointly on the 45 and Up Study and the Social, Economic, and
Environmental Factors in Ageing (SEEF) Study to undertake data
management tasks as well as analysis of cross-sectional, prospective,
and linked data related to both studies. Specific tasks will include
management of questionnaire data, defining and managing geographical
data, geocoding, developing protocols for questionnaire data linkage
with pharmaceutical, health services, and registry data, and analysing
data for reports and scientific publications.
To be considered for this role you must have:
A masters degree in statistics, biostatistics or related
quantitative analytic skills
Demonstrated knowledge of SAS analysis software
Proven advanced analytical skills and a methodological approach to
data management and analysis
Demonstrated knowledge of reporting tools and software packages
(PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Organisational and time management skills with experience in
managing input from multiple research partners
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
