The Centre for Biostatistics and Clinical Trials (BaCT) at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre recently received funds from the Victorian Cancer Agency (VCA) to establish two new positions to boost the infrastructure for the design, conduct and analysis of cancer clinical trials in Victoria. The funds are for one year but as our centre is involved in a range of clinical trials and the activities of the centre are expanding there is every prospect for extension of the initial fixed-term, one-year contracts, subject to performance. Higher qualification allowances, generous salary packaging and 9% super are additional to the base salaries.

Systems Analyst/Programmer (Sci Grade 3, Year 2 or 3: $71,000+ depending on qualifications and experience; Closing Date: 11 April 2008)

Key responsibilities include: Design and construction of databases for clinical trials; Development and documentation of standardised approaches to database design; Implementation of web-based systems. For a full position description, and details on how to apply, please visit:

Statistician (Sci Grade 2, Years 1 to 4: $57,000+ depending on qualifications and experience; No closing date)
Key responsibilities are: Design, conduct and review of clinical trials and other cancer research studies; Statistical analysis, interpretation and presentation of data and report writing; Statistical research; Statistical education.
