Founded 85 years ago, the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of
Sydney has a rich history of intellectual endeavour. Today the Faculty has an
outstanding reputation for diversity and excellence in teaching, learning and
research, and is in a leading position among business and economics faculties in
Australia.
Econometrics and Business Statistics is a dynamic, high-level grouping of
specialists in econometrics, business statistics and management decision sciences.
They are engaged in the development of statistical modelling procedures and their
application to problems arising in economics and business. As well as theoretical
and applied work within the discipline, Econometrics and Business Statistics brings
sophisticated quantitative techniques to all areas of research and scholarship
within the Faculty. The discipline has strengths in the areas of financial
econometrics, computationally intensive estimation methodology, Bayesian
econometrics, business forecasting, environmental econometrics and the econometrics
of energy markets. We are particularly seeking new academic staff to further
strengthen these areas of research.
The Faculty of Economics and Business invites applications for a full-time position

decision science/operations research. The Discipline of Econometrics and Business
