Bioinformatician/Chemometrics Scientist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated researcher to join the Metabolomics Australia Informatics Group at the Bio21 Institute, University of Melbourne. This position is an exciting opportunity to work within the cross-disciplinary team on cutting edge research problems in bioinformatics with immediate and practical applications.

This position will focus on the development of software/algorithms for processing of hyphenated mass spectrometry data (GC-MS and LC-MS), and improvements of existing data processing pipelines. Interest in digital/statistical signal processing, background in statistical methods, and good programming skills are required. Master or PhD in any of the computational/engineering fields will be considered (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics/Statistics). A strong interest to work in the field of biotechnology and applied bioinformatics is essential. Previous bioinformatics experience is not required.
