Research positions and PhD studentship in Statistics/Bioinformatics
The School of Land, Crop and Food Sciences offers full time research positions in statistics/bioinformatics based at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
The research will include the development and implementation of methods for short read sequence assembly and analysis using graph theory approaches. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with internationally recognised experts and apply and develop the latest technologies for bioinformatics and genomics.
International applicants are sought at the post doctoral level. In addition, positions are available for a recent computer science graduate with an interest in bioinformatics. A PhD studentship is also available for Australian permanent residents.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills and demonstrated software development skills. In addition, the post doctoral researcher should have experience in statistical analysis and preparing and submitting scientific publications.
