Postdoctoral Research Fellow In Data Mining & Machine Learning

Position available to work on an ARC Linkage project.

The Role: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral appointment in the area of data mining and machine learning applied to healthcare data. The position is funded by an Australian Research Council Linkage grant for the project ‘Detecting and Understanding Dysfunctional Anomalies in Queensland Healthcare Databases’. The industry partner for the project is the Clinical Practice Improvement Centre, Queensland Health.

The Person: The successful applicant will have completed (or submitted) a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics or a related field with particular skills and knowledge of machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition and classification, statistical inference and visualization. Strong programming and software engineering skills are also required, with experience in the implementation of algorithms in a language such as Matlab, java, C++ or python.
