Guerdon Associates

Graduate analyst

Executive and board remuneration consulting involves advising the boards of directors of listed and private companies on the appropriate level, structure and conditions for executive reward. It is a key element in engaging executives to focus on the factors that create wealth for investors, impacting overall economic wealth for all.

Guerdon Associates is Australia’s foremost executive remuneration consulting firm. Our directors are well known in Australia and overseas. Although relatively newly established, the firm has experienced considerable success in acquiring significant ASX listed companies as clients. This success is attributable, in part, to the creation of Australia’s only on-line executive remuneration database service. This service uses the latest in internet technologies and has no equal in Australia. Innovative advice and a commitment to high service standards have also contributed to our success.

Our rapid growth and continuing success has resulted in the need to recruit additional analysts.

Depending on the qualifications and experience of each analyst, these roles will be engaged in:

  • Analysing market executive remuneration and company financial performance data.
  • Assessing companies for sampling suitability to compare executive pay and performance.
  • Preparing draft client reports and publications.
  • Assessing the degree of adequacy and relatedness between corporate performance and remuneration.
  • Calculating remuneration to comply with AASB and traditional formats
  • Recommending benchmark executive financial performance measures.
  • Preparing reports and graphics to communicate client company performance outcomes on a regular basis.
  • Applying binomial/lattice valuation models to value share options, share rights and other derivative forms of remuneration.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of tax regulations as they impact remuneration (e.g. share and option plans, superannuation, FBT)

Training and development opportunities will be provided in a one on one coaching environment. In addition, as a small and rapidly growing firm, it is expected that all staff pitch in and assist in all tasks that are necessary to meet client needs.

Ideally, successful applicants will be newly qualified graduates with excellent results or existing analysts with up to 2 years’ work experience in one or more of statistics, actuarial science, accounting, economics, corporate performance analysis and/or remuneration. Proficiency in Excel and knowledge of one or more of statistical, economic, actuarial, or finance methodologies is essential. Applicants must be proficient in quantitative analysis, have excellent critical thinking skills and be well presented. Good written communication and verbal skills are desirable. Graduate or post-graduate qualifications are required.

Work is available on a full time or part time basis. Further study is encouraged.

Career prospects, work environment, learning potential and remuneration are excellent.

The position is based in the Sydney CDB.

Applications with academic transcripts can be emailed to careers@guerdonassociates.com. Enquire by calling Michael or Peter at 02 9270 2900.
