PhD Scholarship in Finance
An exciting opportunity exists for an outstanding candidate to undertake full-time applied research in co-operation with the Department of Accounting and Finance at Monash University and the Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC). The research will focus on recent innovations in funds management, specifically on alternatives to market-capitalisation-based indexation.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a team of academics and practitioners from both institutions. The candidate will work one day a week at VFMC and four days a week at Monash University.
The scholarship is funded by the Australian Research Council under its Linkage Projects scheme, which supports collaborative research projects between higher education and industry.
Applicants should have a strong background in one or more of finance, mathematics, statistics, or engineering and a strong interest in the behaviour of capital markets. They should have a good Honours or equivalent degree and must have Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency.
SCHOLARSHIP VALUE: up to approx. $26,000 per annum tax free (indexed annually) plus access to research support for three years. Scholarship holders are HECS exempt.
