Statistical Analysts - Wellington or Christchurch

The Statistical Methods Division provides methodological leadership and technical services to the rest of Statistics New Zealand, undertakes methodological research and develops standards. This ensures statistical collections and outputs are based on sound, internationally accepted best practice. The division currently has opportunities for analysts.

The analysts are the engine room of the vital work Statistical Methodologies undertakes. In these roles you will have the opportunity to investigate, analyse and develop key statistical methodologies, which are at the very core of what we do. So if you enjoy an environment that offers diverse, complex and interesting work then apply now.

We would very much like to hear from if you:

  • have qualifications in mathematics or statistics
  • have excellent communication and relationship skills
  • are interested in applying your methodological skills to a range of areas
  • are looking for an opportunity to join a community of statisticians
  • are a more experienced candidate, though we will also consider promising entry level candidates.

We're the first place to go to when making important decisions in our communities, in government and in large and small businesses. Our statistics appear in newspapers, on radio, the Internet and television every day - telling real stories about real issues.

This role closes Monday 18 August 2008.
