- Purpose of the position
  • To assist in development, co-ordination and implementation of state-wide strategies, effective techniques and initiatives for the development, design, collection, interpretation, analysis and to assist in presentation of data information and systems, utilising project management methodology.
  • To conduct statistical analysis of health and health related data under the guidance of principal data analysts, including benchmarking studies and surveys.

    Key skill requirements/competencies
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and practical ability in at least one of the following areas: biostatistics, health economics, general epidemiology, design and analysis of quantitative surveys.
  • Demonstrated ability to use statistical analytical packages such as SAS, SPSS, SPLUS or similar packages, and other computer systems in general.
  • Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills with proven report writing ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to tight time-lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a professional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
