Purpose of the position
To assist in development, co-ordination and implementation of state-wide strategies, effective techniques and initiatives for the development, design, collection, interpretation, analysis and to assist in presentation of data information and systems, utilising project management methodology.
To conduct statistical analysis of health and health related data under the guidance of principal data analysts, including benchmarking studies and surveys.
Key skill requirements/competencies
Demonstrated analytical skills and practical ability in at least one of the following areas: biostatistics, health economics, general epidemiology, design and analysis of quantitative surveys.
Demonstrated ability to use statistical analytical packages such as SAS, SPSS, SPLUS or similar packages, and other computer systems in general.
Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills with proven report writing ability.
Demonstrated ability to work to tight time-lines.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a professional team.
Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
