The Population Health Statisticians (Statisticians) is a member of the Surveillance and Monitoring unit of Hunter New England Population Health (HNEPH).

HNEPH provides an integrated program of health protection, health promotion and health surveillance services and grant-funded research through staff located in Newcastle, Tamworth and Taree. Staff in each office have Area-wide service delivery responsibilities.

In particular, the statisticians will provide directed statistical mentorship to other statisticians working across HNEPH; high level statistical advice to service staff; oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of HNEPH quality statistical standards; and, contribute to building a safe and positive working environment for all staff across the HNEPH.

All staff of Hunter New England Population Health are expected to contribute to the HNEPH aim of increasing the appropriateness and effectiveness of Population Health service for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community
