The School of Population Health is central to the University's role of
providing quality research and education in the multi faceted areas of
Public and Population Health to the community both in Australia and
internationally. The School is committed to excellence in teaching, research
training and scholarship, service provision and community linkages.
The Cancer Prevention Research Centre (CPRC) is part of the School of Population
Health, in the Faculty of Health Sciences. CPRC's research focus is on
understanding and influencing the major behavioural risk factors for cancer via
epidemiologic and intervention studies. Current studies focus on the
environmental and social determinants of physical inactivity, weight gain, cigarette
smoking, and sun exposure, as well as health behaviour interventions in chronic
disease prevention and management.
The Role: The applicant will be expected to conduct and provide oversight
of the statistical analyses activities of the various Cancer Prevention
Research Centre (CPRC) descriptive epidemiology and behavioural
intervention trials datasets. The opportunity also exists to develop a line of
research in the context of the CPRC research program.
The Person: You should possess a degree in statistics or in a related field,
with a statistics component, or an equivalent combination of relevant
experience and/or education/training. You should have experience with
statistical software packages, including SAS, SPSS, STATA. Experience
with analysis of descriptive epidemiology and randomized trials data is
highly desirable.
Remuneration: This is a full or part-time, fixed term appointment for 1
year at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range of
$68,743 to $75,187 including employer superannuation contributions of
9%.
