QUEENSLAND CLINICAL TRIALS & BIOSTATISTICS CENTRE
SCHOOL OF POPULATION HEALTH, UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND
The Queensland Clinical Trials & Biostatistics Centre (QCTBC) was
established by the University of Queensland within the School of
Population Health in recognition of the need for a specialised centre to
promote clinical trials and biostatistical research and services within
the region and beyond. QCTBC provides expertise and infrastructure to
design, conduct and facilitate high quality clinical trials and
biostatistical research with academic and industry collaborators to
improve human health outcomes.
The School of Population Health of the University of Queensland has an
international reputation for research and teaching excellence in
epidemiology, biostatistics, tropical and international health,
nutrition, burden of disease and cost-effectiveness analyses. Research
programs are funded by grants from many sources including the National
Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Australian Research Council
(ARC), the Wellcome Trust, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Atlantic
Philanthropies, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank.
The role: The successful applicant will take a leading role in design
and analysis of clinical trials, undertake clinical biostatistical
research, and associated activities such as teaching and supervision of
postgraduate students.
The person: Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Biostatistics or
in a closely related field. Candidates with a postgraduate degree in
Biostatistics and with strong research interest may also be considered.
Experienced Biostatisticians from industry with a strong research
interest in clinical Biostatistics are also welcome to apply.
Experience with statistical software such as SAS, R and STATA is
important.
Remuneration: This is a full time, fixed term appointment for 3 years at
Academic level B or C. The remuneration package will be in the range of
$70,968 to $84,275 (Level B) or $86,936 to $100,243 (Level C) per annum
plus employer superannuation contributions of 17%. Level of appointment
will be dependent upon qualifications, experience and academic
achievements.
