CLINICAL SAS PROGRAMMER

Ongoing / Permanent

Advertised Internally / Externally

In this position you will take responsibility for managing SAS clinical trial databases for a number of CSL’s clinical development programs and providing SAS programming support to the Chief Statistician and the Clinical Safety group. You will develop and validate SAS code for producing presentation quality tables, listings and graphs, as well as for creating derived analysis data sets. You will also develop and perform quality control checks and appropriate documentation to ensure reliable and reproducible results.

This person must be able to perform edit/audit check and quality control results against the protocols. On a weekly and monthly basis the position will generate reports for the ongoing trials using programs developed for quality control and project monitoring. The candidate will be responsible for the creation of presentation quality tables, graphs and listings for inclusion in study reports. Along with exporting, importing and creating SAS data sets the programmer will provide documentation of SAS code, program output, and reports for other team members.

You will work closely with the Contract Research Organisations who create the clinical databases as well as with the Clinical Safety group and other clients to produce required reports.

The cooperative and broad-based nature of the role makes your outstanding interpersonal communications skills a necessity. A thorough understanding of SAS data management and programming supplements your tertiary qualification in Statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. You are also familiar with the regulatory requirements (e.g FDA, EMEA, ICH) for clinical trial data management and have experience managing such trials in a pharmaceutical, clinical trial centre or CRO work environment. Some experience working in immunology-related medical fields and a familiarity with medical terminology and SQL or MSAccess database tools will be highly regarded.
