    Senior Statistician Role:

    Datapharm Australia has just celebrated 20 years of clinical research in Australia and during that time has built up a strong statistics team. Our statistical project load is increasing with more global projects and more biotechnology clients. We are looking for another experienced senior statistician to join our team. You will need postgraduate training in statistics, experience in both biostatistics (preferably clinical trials) and SAS programming. Your role would be to consult with clients on study design and sample size, write and review SAPs, program and review statistical analyses, write and review study reports and implement training programs. Our head office is in Drummoyne, Sydney with a regional office in Queensland and further planned. We have experienced statisticians and SAS programmers who will support a new member of the expanding stats team.

    The role will involve the following tasks:
  • Top line consulting and advice with our clients involving excellent communication skills.
  • Assisting with study design including sample size calculations and statistical sections for clinical protocols.
  • Writing statistical analysis plans (SAPs).
  • Preparation of randomisation schedules.
  • Performing and checking statistical analysis of clinical trial data using SAS and other programs.
  • Programming and QC of statistical report tables and graphs in SAS in a format to include in the final study report.
  • Writing and reviewing the statistical sections of the full study report.
  • Training

    Requirements:
    Essential:
  • Completed a postgraduate degree in statistics preferably at PhD or masters level.
  • A high level of experience in statistical analysis and SAS programming .
  • Particular experience in biostatistics (preferably with clinical trial analysis).
  • Excellent oral communication skills and confidence in statistical knowledge to interface effectively with clients.
  • Excellent written skills to allow for writing study reports.

    Desirable:
  • Stats Society accreditation.
  • A passion for scientific research, with exposure to medical and clinical research.
  • An eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to operate at a senior level in a busy interactive and interdependent team including offering peer support to juniors.
  • Good time management and organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

    Salary:
