Senior Statisticians – Surveys Design and Quality Assurance
$89,039-$100,504 per annum (plus superannuation)

ABARE is seeking 2 experienced statisticians to undertake a range of functions within its Agriculture and Surveys Branch.

The successful applicants will work in a team environment applying innovative statistical techniques in ABARE surveys and data analysis, as well as helping to solve applied problems of importance for Government policy development. They will be expected to identify innovative data collection and managements systems to increase the efficiency of data collection, processing and client access. Supervision and development of more junior staff will also form important components of these positions.

Ideally the successful applicants will have an interest in data and data issues; have SAS programming experience and some knowledge of UNIX and of databases; have knowledge of and experience with surveys; have an understanding of the importance of detail, a commitment to excellence, and a willingness to learn about the issues facing the Australian agricultural sector. Experience with supervision and development of staff will be highly regarded. Relevant tertiary qualifications from an Australian University or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable.
