Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD scholarship in Statistics at Massey University. This will provide an annual emolument of NZ$22,000, plus payment of fees for three years.

The topic will be the estimation of time-varying risk from volcanic eruptions.

Applicants should have a Masters or good (4 year) Honours degree in statistics, with some knowledge of stochastic processes and statistical computing. No background in volcanology is required, although it would be an advantage.
