The Centre for Biostatistics and Clinical Trials (BaCT) provides statistical and data management support to research at Peter Mac, especially for clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of Australia’s leading cancer clinical trials centres during a period of expansion of its activities; BaCT currently has 29 staff including six statisticians.
You will be involved primarily in the design, analysis and reporting of cancer clinical trials and other studies, but will also be expected to have an interest and engage in methodological research in biostatistics. Ideally, you will have consulting experience and have an interest and ability in statistical research, however less experienced applicants with strong credentials may also be considered. You should have a postgraduate degree in statistics and excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills. Experience in the design and analysis of clinical trials is desirable. Salary will depend on qualifications and experience. Higher qualification allowance and generous salary packaging and superannuation are additional to the base salary. The period of the appointment will be fixed term for one year with the likelihood of extension, subject to review.
