Purpose of the position:
To provide technical leadership in medical statistics to the Statistical and Library Services Centre in Queensland Health.

To provide specialist advice in medical statistics to other business areas within Queensland Health.

To supervise and mentor junior statisticians within the Statistical and Library Services Centre.

To provide statistical information to assist Queensland Health in planning, managing, monitoring and evaluation activities, by designing and undertaking appropriate statistical analyses of health-related data.

To translate statistical analyses into information that can be used by budget holders and policy analysts within Queensland Health.

Requirements:

You will need to have experience in conducting statistical analyses, preferably in a medical or epidemiological context, and be proficient in using statistical software packages. You will be outcome-focused and be able to effectively manage your time to meet deadlines. You will be a motivated worker, with a demonstrated ability to initiate, implement, manage and complete major projects, including working collaboratively with other government departments, universities, and non-government professional groups. Candidates must be Australia based.
