    Are you the sort of finance professional who is keen to be part of promoting good practice in an industry that is vital to the Australian community? Do you like to look beyond the obvious to try to see 'the big picture’? If so, then we’re keen to talk to you.

    We’re looking for professionals with relevant financial sector experience, compliance or risk management and the highest integrity to be involved in the critical role of supervising financial institutions, including some of Australia’s largest conglomerates. We:
  • license new financial institutions;
  • analyse the technical and safety implications of significant transactions or activities, including mergers, acquisitions and major changes to financial institutions’ business operations;
  • monitor the financial position and outlook of institutions;
  • assess general risks as well as specific risks such as credit, market, investment and operational risks, in financial institutions and their control systems;
  • assess the investment governance and investment policies and processes of institutions;
  • manage problem situations and at risk institutions;
  • research and develop policies to manage emerging prudential risks; and
  • enforce directions to protect policyholders, depositors and superannuation fund members.

    If you have qualifications in a finance-related discipline, experience in identifying and assessing risks, and like to ask questions of even the most senior executives - and if you enjoy applying your excellent analytical and communication skills as part of a highly talented team - we’d like to hear from you.

    The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) regulates the Australian banking, insurance and superannuation industries and is funded largely by the industries that it supervises.
