Job description

An exciting position is available from 1st August 2009 for a suitably highly qualified candidate (Posdoctoral level) with experience in the application of Bioinformatics and an understanding of molecular biology.

A highly motivated individual is sought for this position to work on a number of exciting projects on nematode pathogens of plants. The projects will be undertaken with staff of NemGenix Pty Ltd, a Perth based- agricultural biotechnology company, in collaboration with leading national and international researchers in the areas of RNA interference (RNAi), miRNAs, DNA sequence assembly, annotation and comparative studies. These projects involve Professor Peter Waterhouse (Federation Fellow, University of Sydney), A/Professor Derek Goto (Hokkaido University), the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (New Delhi), and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories (USA).

The position is for one year initially with potential for extension based on performance, and will be located with NemGenix’s molecular researchers at the WA State Agricultural Biotechnology Centre at Murdoch University.
