Tutor or Senior tutor in Statistics

TUTOR OR SENIOR TUTOR IN STATISTICS
MASSEY UNIVERSITY, PALMERSTON NORTH, NEW ZEALAND

The Statistics Group at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand is looking to appoint a Tutor or Senior Tutor in Statistics. The position is expected to be half-time (18.75 hours per week) although some variation to this may be possible. The salary will be in the range $47,781-$62,782 full-time equivalent for a Tutor, and $62,061-$72,779 full-time equivalent for a Senior Tutor.

Teaching duties during the academic teaching year will include preparation and delivery of lectures, supervision of workshops and laboratory classes, conducting tutorials, and marking assignments and examination papers.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Statistics Group at Massey University Manawatu is based in the Institute of Fundamental Sciences in Palmerston North. It comprises 11 permanent academic staff, and has a strong research profile including research in statistics education. The Group has a highly regarded teaching programme, with papers offered at a variety of levels in both internal and extramural (distance learning) modes. Class sizes range from several hundred (in large first-year "service courses") to 10-20 for specialized third-year papers. The appointee can expect to work primarily on first and second year papers.
