Operating from within Queensland Primary Industries & Fisheries (QPIF), you will be involved in the lead research agency providing scientific solutions to protect and conserve fisheries resources in Queensland while maintaining profitable commercial and enjoyable recreational fishing. As Senior Fisheries Scientist you will work in a research team developing quantitative tools and models for management of fisheries resources. A generous and supportive research environment is provided, with opportunities to develop collaborative work between QPIF, the newly funded Centre for Applications in Resource Mathematics within the School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Queensland and other research agencies. Candidates with interests in the application of statistical and mathematical tools are encouraged to apply. Quantitative qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Science (Fisheries, Biology, Ecology or Environment), Computing, or Engineering are required. This position is permanent with a salary range $75,257 - $81,075 p.a. plus superannuation.
