An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic biostatistician with excellent research skills to contribute to various projects within the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre - Assessment and Better Care (DCRC-ABC) at UNSW and to undertake relevant independent research. The successful applicant will be required to provide high level statistical and research design advice and mentoring to researchers in the Centre and in partner organisations.

This is a post-doctoral Research Fellow position which requires PhD qualifications and postgraduate experience in biostatistics. The position would suit an individual who is interested in advancing dementia research that will lead to improved assessment and better care for people with dementia.

The Dementia Collaborative Research Centre - Assessment and Better Care (DCRC-ABC) is one of three government-funded DCRCs. The other two Centres, located at ANU and QUT, focus on Early Diagnosis and Prevention and Carers and Consumers respectively.

The DCRC-ABC consists of a multi-disciplinary team and offers established collaborations with internationally recognised research partners in Australia and overseas. The Centre offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

This fixed term position is available from March 2011 until 30 June 2013 with a 12-month probation period. Hours per week are negotiable (20-35 hrs/week). The successful applicant may be required to undertake a criminal record check.
