Biostatistician

There is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic biostatistician and/or biomathematical modeller at the National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research, University of New South Wales.

We are looking for a research assistant or PhD student in applied statistics & biomathematics to work on projects to analyse innovative biological data from the leading international basic science laboratories researching Chlamydia infections in animals and humans and develop simple statistical and biomathematical models. Quantitative methods will be used to gain insight into interacting biological factors and also to inform public health programs. The successful applicants will join a team of researchers and collaborate with scientists from different research groups around the world.

To be a successful candidate you should have the ability to work independently and have good knowledge of data analysis and basic modeling techniques. Good communication skills, including experience writing papers or technical reports, are also important.

This work is suitable for someone with an Honours degree in statistics, mathematics or computer science.
