Associate Professor/Professor in Mathematical or Statistical Modelling

    A key senior position as Professor in Mathematical or Statistical Modelling has been identified for the purpose of growing and leading the research in bioinformatics and phenomics conducted in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment, UniSA.

    This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to grow and lead this research concentration within an existing and thriving research environment. The scientific background and skill set of the appointee will ensure strong research leadership of the mathematical, statistical and bioinformatics capabilities of existing and future members of the research group. The responsibilities of the role include meeting the immediate and future requirements of the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics (ACPFG) with the analysis and interpretation of plant genomic and plant phenotypic data and expanding the activities of the research group into other areas of informatics that are aligned with research strengths in the University (e.g. medical and public health informatics).

    The successful applicant should have a strong research record in one of the following areas: mathematical modelling or statistical modelling. The successful applicant will also have experience with modelling of biological systems.
