The Quality Use of Medicines and Pharmacy Research Centre (QUMPRC) is aligned to the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences and Sansom Institute for Health Research. The QUMPRC has a highly successful track record in research and focuses on the development, implementation and evaluation of national medicines policies and programs through research, consultancy and training across a range of settings.
The Veterans' MATES (Medicines Advice and Therapeutics Education Services) project is a key research activity currently being undertaken by the QUMPRC. The 7 year project aims to improve veterans' medication usage and health outcomes by using patient specific feedback to inform GPs about medication issues. As part of the project the QUMPRC has established a state-of-the-art data management centre linking DVA, veteran and doctor-specific information.
The QUMPRC are currently seeking an experienced epidemiologist to provide support to the Veterans' MATES project as Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow. The position will undertake health outcome, cohort and epidemiological studies, interrogation and analysis of linked datasets and will also contribute to the publication of reports, articles and papers.
To be successful you must hold a PhD in a health, population health, epidemiology or social science discipline combined with skills in statistical analysis/biostatistics, quantitative modelling and/or experimental design and survey research. Experience using SAS and/or Stata software is essential as is a strong track record in research publications and the ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team.
The level of appointment for the successful candidate will be determined according to qualifications and experience.
